Service, maintenance and repair

If you are experiencing problems with your Tidewave device, you can find the problem below to find possible causes and solutions.
If you still cannot find the answer, contact qualified Tidewave service personnel.

The light on the panel automatically turns off after 10 seconds of inactivity

  • Press any button. If the panel light still does not work, make sure that the power cord is intact and fully engaged in the pump assembly. Contact qualified Tidewave service personnel for assistance if the issue is not resolved.
The power cord is not connected
  • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet. Watch the instructional video below.
There is no power in the socket
  • Use a different outlet.
The power cord is damaged
  • Unplug the power cord so that it is not connected. Contact qualified Tidewave service personnel to order a replacement power cord and return the damaged cord.
DC plug not connected
  • Make sure that the DC connector is properly connected to the pump assembly.

The service light is on
  • Check the air tubing and make sure it is connected correctly.

The backrest light is on
  • Lower the backrest to 30 degrees or less.

The backrest light is on, but the backrest is flat
  • Open the zipper to access the air cells. Check that the air cells are positioned in the correct direction. Look for the label that says “this side against the mattress.” Contact qualified Tidewave service personnel for assistance if the issue is not resolved.

Air tubing is disconnected
  • Connect the air tubing, wait 1 minute and try to start the pump assembly.

The air hose is pinched
  • Check that the air tubing is not pinched or has a sharp bend.
Other
  • Unplug and wait 10 seconds. Plug it back in and wait for 30 seconds. Press and hold the “stop” button for at least 10 seconds until the service light turns off.
If the light is still on
  • If the air tubing is properly connected, the system has restarted, and the service light is still on – contact qualified Tidewave service personnel.
The system is not turned on
  • Plug in the power cord and start a program. Watch the instructional video below.
The patient is not centered on the mattress
  • Put the patient in a new position so that he/she is centered.

The patient has strong contractions
  • It can be difficult to observe turning in patients with severe contractions. Wait for the contractions to pass and observe for 10 minutes to confirm whether the rotary function is working or not.
The backrest is too high
  • The swivel function stops if the backrest is raised above 30 degrees. Lower the backrest to 30 degrees or less to resume the swivel function.
Defective pump unit
  • Contact qualified service personnel at Tidewave.
The system is not turned on
  • Plug in the power cord and start a program. Watch the instructional video below.
Connections aren’t connected
  • Check that the air tubing and power cord are connected correctly. Watch the instructional video below.
The air hose or power cord is damaged
  • Contact qualified service personnel at Tidewave.
Defective pump unit
  • Contact qualified service personnel at Tidewave.
The backrest is too high
  • Lower the backrest so that air can be distributed more easily.
Electromagnetic interference caused by accidental triggering of electromagnetic energy waves
  • Determine if emissions from the mattress are causing the interference by turning the system on and off. If the interference disappears when the system shuts down, do the following: Move the affected items. Increase the distance between the devices. Connect the system to an outlet with a different circuit. If the interference still occurs, contact qualified Tidewave service personnel.

Maintenance and repair

Repairs must only be carried out by approved personnel with proper training from Tidewave Medical AS. Only original parts of the Tidewave™ device should be used. Improper maintenance or repair may result in a breach of warranty. Correct maintenance/repair is a prerequisite for the product’s lifespan and for the safety of the user. In the worst case, improper maintenance/repair can lead to personal injury or death.

Service interval and instructions

This product should be serviced at least every 2 years* to ensure that the product is in good working order
and to maintain user and patient safety. Service must be performed by approved personnel with proper training from Tidewave Medical AS. Only spare parts from Tidewave Medical AS should be used to maintain the warranty and to ensure product safety,

Documentation for service/repair

After the service/repair has been performed, the completed TW-CHKL10532 service checklist must be sent to docs@tidewave.no. Note: The serial number of the pump unit must be quoted as the subject of the email. Repairs and component replacements must be noted in the form. Any new serial number for the component is written down under chapter 3 “comments” in the checklist. This allows Tidewave Medical to update the documentation package and assess whether there is a need for further improvements to the product.

* Under normal use. Normal use is considered default settings and up to 12 hours of operating time per day. day and night. Operating time over 12 hours per day and/or settings beyond standard, such as high pump speed, no pause and/or high swing angle, increase wear on the product. In such operating situations, we require more frequent service intervals.
